
Rochester Fire Department Issues Tool Charging Reminder Following Massive Garage Fire
Upon arrival crews found what a news release describes as a heavy fire burning through the roof of a garage.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An attached garage fire has prompted a charger safety reminder from the Rochester Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the blaze in rural southeast Rochester around 11:00 Friday night.
Upon arrival crews found what a news release describes as a heavy fire burning through the roof of a garage.

Rochester Fire Department Fights Large, Late-Night Attached Garage Fire
The fire broke out at a home in the 5600 block of Bragg Ln. Southeast.
Firefighters used a pair of tanker trucks, which carry 1500 gallons of water each, to supply the water needed to extinguish the fire due to the neighborhood not having any fire hydrants, the news release says.
Upon arrival all occupants were reported to have gotten out of the home. Firefighters did not find anyone inside during a search of the home during the firefight, the news release says.
No injuries were reported. A damage estimate is not yet available.
The news release does not list a cause of the fire but includes a tool charging safety tip.
Officials say to plug only one tool charger into an outlet at a time and to unplug the charger and tool when they’re not in use.
The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene of the fire.
