The Highway 52 project that was scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept 11th has been postponed until Sept 16th, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The project, which scheduled for concrete repairs, was set to create a detour between Fountain and Preston. The project was postponed because of the rainy weather.

Here is the detour for those traveling on Highway 52 starting next Monday, Sept. 16th, from MnDOT:

"The detour route for through traffic from the north at Fountain is Fillmore Co. Rd. 8 east to Lanesboro to Hwy 16 south of Lanesboro back to Hwy 52. The detour from the south is in reverse.

Motorists going into Preston can use Fillmore Co. Rd. 8 east to Fillmore Co. Rd. 17 south.

Hwy 16 motorists approaching Hwy 52 from the west will not be able to join Hwy 52 at Preston. They’ll need to detour north on Hwy 80 to the detour route at Fountain. Vehicles going to POET Biorefining in Preston may use Hwy 16 for accessing the plant."

The 7-mile stretch between Fountain and through Preston will be single lane traffic and will remain open on Highway 52 for people who live along the route or for people to reach businesses on the route.
