A car traveling north on the four-lane highway entered the ditch and came to a stop after the driver lost control of the vehicle, the state crash report says.

Zumbrota, MM (KROC-AM News)- A crash on Hwy. 52 in southeastern Minnesota sent a toddler and a woman to the hospital over the weekend.

They were the only people occupying the only vehicle involved in the crash. The State Patrol responded to the single-vehicle crash around 5:15 Sunday afternoon.

60-year-old Renee Marie Wilson of Blaine was driving the car. Her passenger was a three-year-old boy also from Blaine, the State Patrol says. Wilson and the child were taken to a hospital in Cannon Falls.

The State Patrol says the young boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Wilson was not hurt. 

Alcohol was not involved in the crash. Wilson and the toddler were both buckled up, according to the state crash report

Zumbrota Ambulance, the Zumbrota Police Department, the Zumbrota Fire Department and the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the single-vehicle crash.
