South St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A bicyclist was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision with a passenger vehicle yesterday afternoon in Dakota County.

The South St. Paul Police Department says the incident was reported just after 2 PM. A news release says a 61-year-old Bloomington man was driving the vehicle that struck the bicyclist, who had just passed through a stop sign.

The injured bicyclist, who has only been identified as a 58-year-old St. Paul man, suffered critical injuries.

South St. Paul police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The news release also notes that impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor.
