Minnesota Man Hurt in Collision with Dump Truck
Lonsdale, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Burnsville man was hospitalized after a traffic collision with a dump truck in Rice County late Wednesday morning.
The State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle collision about 11 miles west of Northfield at the intersection of Hwy. 19 and Elmore Ave. The crash occurred at 11:45 a.m.
The state crash report indicates a minivan, operated by 46-year-old Mauricio Pinnello Lopez, and a dump truck collided as the vehicles were heading west on the two-lane highway. Pinnello was brought to a Twin Cities hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the van, identified as Wilmer Randolfo Cano Rivas of Burnsville, was not hurt. The dump truck operator, 49-year-old Thomas Kevin Kodada of Montgomery, MN, was also unharmed.
The road was described as dry at the time of the crash. Everyone involved was buckled up and alcohol was not a factor in the collision, the state crash report says.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Office and Northfield Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
