Undated (KROC AM News) - Driving conditions are slowly getting back to normal around Minnesota in the aftermath of this week’s storm.

Public safety agencies were swamped during the brunt of the storm that produced whiteout conditions and slippery roads. Strong winds also created problems in many areas by blowing down power lines. Numerous rural roads in SE Minnesota were still closed Friday morning due to downed lines.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports its troopers responded to hundreds of traffic wrecks and mishaps, including jackknifed semi-trucks and numerous multi-vehicle pileups during the storm. Some involved injuries.

There was a fatal wreck in Wright County Friday morning but it’s not known at this time if it was weather-related.

The State Patrol also reported an incident involving one of its troopers on Thursday.

Here’s the State Patrol Facebook post that included the video below:

“A trooper directing traffic around a jackknifed semi this morning on Highway 86 and Interstate 90 in Jackson County was knocked to the ground by a wind gust. The trooper was not injured, but the video is a reminder of the dangerous conditions caused by this April snowstorm.”
