Gaining familiarity with the statements, quotes and opinions of the movers and shakers in politics, the media, and other information sources is a productive way to better understand the events of the day.

A review of the opinions of some of these sources is informative and illuminating. Eric Mack (Newsmax) is one example. In a recent column he found virtue in the event of global warming. It has always been clear to me that global warming, if it is occurring, is a plus as fewer deaths occur from climate extremes from warmer than colder climates. Plus, warmer temperatures can expand agricultural lands meaning greater food supplies.

Plus, if the wealthy leftist elites really believed global warming with its predicted risings sea levels was happening, why would so many purchase properties at such coastal paradises as Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts?

Donald Trump’s Energy Secretary nominee, Chris Wright, is a global warming optimist, according to Mack. Mentioning the agricultural and life-expectancy advantages, Wright claims “there is no climate crisis,” but the claim and issue emboldens “political actors with anti-fossil fuel agendas.”

Mack says Trump’s energy secretary “intends to deliver on Trump’s pledge to unleash affordable and reliable American energy to power homes, businesses, (vehicles), factories, and secure energy independence.”

In the 2024 election, Trump gained votes among women, minorities, and the blue-collar trades. Why? American Thinker writer Karl Castel explains: “How can a trade (person) or service worker” work from home? Why should blue-collar workers pay off college student Loans? Ironically, Castel, relates, Donald Trump, a Wharton School of Business graduate, wore hardhats and communicated with his construction workers, “and tapped into the frustrations of millions who felt abandoned by the establishment.”

American Thinker columnist Dennis Lund described it another way: a voter rebellion by the masses that most Americans (felt) for the Democrat positions on the economy, transgenderism, and mutilation, abortion, wokeism, and illegal immigration.” Other observers might list a voter rebellion against Democrat name-calling (“deplorables”), anti-religion, and anti-Semitism.

Former FOXNEWS host, now popular podcaster, Megyn Kelley was cited by Gateway Pundit writer Cullen Linebarger in her masterful response to CBS host Lesley Stahl, who wondered and worried about why the liberal media was so unpopular. Kelley explained why in a podcast response to Stahl and her anti-Trump interview and other commentary. Kelley explained: “Like maybe don’t say the (Hunter Biden) laptop can’t be verified when it can. Maybe don’t stealth the Democratic candidate’s interview and not release the transcript. Maybe don’t host a vice-presidential debate when you fact-check only one side. And then on the Republican side you cut his mic.”

Jim Hoff (Gateway Pundit) reported the statement made by CNN correspondent Jeff Zeleny that a Biden family conference concluded Hunter Biden needed a blanket pardon from President Biden “out of fear ‘the “Biden Crime family’ would be investigated by President Trump.”

Hillsdale College president Larry P. Arnn spoke to a Hillsdale College celebration in San Diego in November, enunciating the necessity to “drain the swamp,” as Trump was elected to do, comparing Trump’s resilience and mission to Britain’s World War II leader, implying Trump is magnificently Churchillian, and paying tribute to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution “that enabled us to make America great in the first place.”
