Vehicle Strikes and Kills Pedestrian Along Minnesota Highway

Eden Prairie, MN (KROC-AM News)- An Elderly man from Eden Prairie was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the Twin Cities suburb Monday morning.
The State Patrol says the pedestrian was walking in the crosswalk against traffic when he was hit by the eastbound car. The deadly incident was reported shortly after 7 a.m. along Hwy. 5 near Eden Prairie Rd.
The pedestrian, identified as 80-year-old John Nordeen, was pronounced dead at the scene. The state crash report identifies 59-year-old Jolene Santema as the driver of the car. She was not hurt in the fatal collision.
Officials say alcohol was not involved. The road was described as dry at the time of the tragic incident.
