Work Dispute At Rochester Business Leads to Assault Charges After Employee Allegedly Pulled Knife
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department arrested a woman over the weekend who was accused of threatening her co-worker with a knife.
That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. The alleged incident happened at a business in Rochester Saturday.
The victim, described as an adult female, told police she had a work-related dispute with her co-worker, identified as 23-year-old Josephina Iba Omerichamoi. She reported going into her manager’s office to discuss the dispute when Omerichamoi followed her into the office, the complaint says.
During the discussion the woman said Omerichamoi pulled out a pocket knife, unfolded the blade, pointed it at the victim and said “you can’t do this to me.” The victim said Omerichamoi was holding the knife while blocking the only exit from the manager’s office, the charges say.
The manager told officers he instructed the victim to step away from Omerichamoi then told Omerichamoi to put away the knife. Omerichamoi complied with the manager's request and was escorted off the premises before being arrested, according to the complaint.
Omerichamoi was charged Tuesday with a count of felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. She was released without bail following her arraignment and is due back in court next month.
