Suspicious Item Draws Large Response at Minnesota Capitol
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- There was a large first responder presence at the Minnesota State Capitol Friday evening.
State Patrol Lt. Jill Frankfurth says the agency was made aware of the presence of a suspicious item around 6:30 p.m. It was found in a bathroom on the landmark building’s first floor.
The St. Paul Fire Department was called to the scene as a precautionary measure. Frankfurth says the suspicious items was mason jars filled with an unknown liquid.
St. Paul firefighters monitored the area and found no active leaks or threats around the jars. Fire officials gave the all clear and items are being disposed of per protocol, Frankfurth said.
The Capitol building was closed at the time and no one was inside, according to Frankfurth.
