Limited information is available as of 7:20 Tuesday evening. 

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin said deputies were at the scene of the incident shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Office: Active Investigation Underway at Scene of Byron Incident

An address of the incident has not been released. Parkin described the incident as an active investigation and said no other information is available.

Further details are expected to be available later Tuesday or by Wednesday morning, Parkin said.

Also on Tuesday Byron School District Superintendent Dr. Mike Neubeck informed the district community that an "unknown substance" was found on the high school campus after school dismissal.

Neubeck said the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office was immediately contacted and conducted an investigation and sweep of the building. Authorities determined there was not an immediate credible threat, the email says.

It's unknown if the two incidents are related.
