Two New Felony Convictions for Repeat Rochester Porch Pirate
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman with multiple convictions for “porch pirate” incidents in the Rochester area has two new felony convictions on her criminal record.
Olmsted County court records indicate her latest convictions stem from the arrest of 49-year-old Angela Mae Clemens in early March of last year. The criminal complaint says an Olmsted County deputy on patrol spotted her in a vehicle stopped next to a mailbox in Oronoco Township. The court document says the deputy knew of her prior mail theft convictions and that she did not live in that area, which eventually led to a search of her vehicle.
7 Different Victims
The charges say the search led to the discovery of mail belonging to seven different households in Rochester.
Clemens was charged with seven counts of felony mail theft. She entered into a plea agreement on Tuesday and admitted to two of the charges.
Extensive Criminal History
Court records show Clemens was convicted of felony mail theft in Olmsted County in 2022 and was sentenced to five years on probation with a stayed 19-month prison sentence. She also has mail theft convictions from 2020 and 2018, with her overall criminal history listing convictions in 10 theft cases dating back to 2011.

Prosecutors Recommend Prison
According to the plea agreement, Olmsted County prosecutors plan to ask the court for an 18-month prison term when Clemens is sentenced in March. The court document indicates that would be on the low end of the sentencing range recommended by state sentencing guidelines.
