
Rochester Police Respond to Fourth Shooting Since Mid-June, Vehicle Latest Target of Gunfire

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester police are investigating a shooting that happened over the weekend.

It’s the fourth shooting to occur in Rochester since mid-June. Three of the shootings have happened within a less than mile-long of 41st St. Northwest.
Two men have been charged in connection to a shooting on June 17 at the Gates of Rochester Apartment complex. Court documents in that case indicate the gunfire stemmed from a drug deal.

On July 3, 35-year-old Sadik A. Yusuf was shot and killed outside of the Villages of Essex Park Apartment complex. 31-year-old Ibrahim Abukaar Abdi was arrested and charged in that case.
On July 7, a man and woman reported being shot at as they fled an alleged assault at Quarry Hill Park. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in that case, identified as 28-year-old Lamarion Knox Joseph.
Police Find Shot Out Vehicle at Rochester Apartment Complex, Investigation Underway
Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the report of gunfire in the 1800 block of 41st St. Northwest around 10:30 Sunday night.
Police found an empty vehicle with a shattered window in the parking lot of the Village Green Apartments. Grayson says officers found spent shell casings at the scene.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been announced as of Monday afternoon.
