Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man and woman riding on a motorcycle were killed in a crash over the weekend at a Rochester-area intersection.

That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin.

He said deputies and other first responders were called to the scene of the fatal collision around 3:45 Saturday afternoon.

Man and Woman Riding Motorcycle Killed in Crash With Truck at Intersection Southwest of Rochester

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Salem Road SW and 60th Ave SW, which is just southwest of Rochester

Preliminary information indicates a motorcycle and a truck collided at the intersection and that the two occupants on the motorcycle were injured. 

Mayo Clinic Ambulance crews provided the motorcycle driver and passenger with life-saving efforts but they were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Parkin described the motorcycle occupants as a 63-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman. Their names have not been released. 

Deadly Truck-Motorcycle Collision Southwest of Rochester Under Investigation

A 25-year-old man was behind the wheel of the truck, Parkin said. His name has also not been released. 

No other injuries were reported.

Parkin says the investigation into the deadly collision remains open and active.
