
Fentanyl Buys Lead to Drug Charges Against Rochester Man
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two controlled drug buys conducted by law enforcement have led to filing of drug charges against a Rochester man.

A controlled buy is when authorities use a reliable informant to purchase narcotics from a person suspected of being a drug dealer.
The informant is searched by law enforcement before and after the transaction.

Rochester police conducted the controlled buys as part of a narcotics investigation that started in January.
Charges: Rochester, MN Man Sold Law Enforcement Informant Fentanyl Powder During Two Controlled Drug Buys
The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday, identifies the target of the drug investigation as 31-year-old Keywan Devonta Johnson.
Johnson sold an informant a powder that tested positive for fentanyl during the controlled buys, the court document says.
The powder purchased during each buy weighed in excess of 10 grams, according to the complaint. The specific amount of drugs bought is not listed in the court document.
Johnson is charged with two counts of first-degree drug sales. He made his first court appearance in the case on Thursday and was released without bail, according to court records.
His next court appearance is set to take place in April.
